Families
LJPS realizes that its strength lies in its parents and guardians and the extent to which they become involved in the daily activities of the students. For this reason, we actively encourage the participation of parents and guardians in all of its activities.
-
Parents or guardians are encouraged to join and participate in the schools Parent and Teachers Helping Students (PATHS) organization.
-
Families are encouraged to volunteer, attend lunch with their students, observe classes, be present at extracurricular activities, and be a part of the school program in many other ways.
-
Parents and guardians are invited to monthly “focus group” meetings with school officials.
-
Parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to schedule parent-teacher conferences, participate in the development and revision of individual strategies or plans for their child.
-
All LJPS families are invited to at least one parent open house per semester.
-
Parents or guardians will be given the opportunity to evaluate the school at least once per year.
Community Members
LJPS relies on members of the community to partner with us to ensure that we are doing what it takes to prepare our students for the world of work. The support of local businesses and community members are invaluable resources for our school.
