Military Families

Liza Jackson Preparatory School (LJPS) welcomes military families, and knows what a vital role you play in our community. With numerous faculty members having some relation to the military, Liza Jackson Preparatory understands the challenges these students and their families face every day. From extended parental deployments to multiple moves, it can be challenging for military children to feel confident.

We are excited to share with you a meaningful initiative that we are launching at our school – the Student 2 Student (S2S) Program which is part of the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC).

The S2S program aims to create a supportive and nurturing environment for military students at Liza Jackson Preparatory School. It is designed to provide these students with a unique opportunity to connect with one another, share their experiences, and discuss military child life in a safe and understanding space.

As you may be aware, military families often face unique challenges due to frequent relocations, deployments, and transitions. By establishing the S2S Program, we hope to:

1. Foster a sense of belonging: Many military students feel isolated during their time at a new school. Through this program, they can find a community that understands and empathizes with their experiences.

2. Support emotional well-being: Open discussions about military child life can help students process their emotions and cope with the stresses that arise from their family’s military service.

3. Promote academic success: When students feel supported and connected, their academic performance improves. The Student 2 Student Program aims to contribute to their overall educational success.

Together, we can create a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports our military students’ success.
