Employment Opportunities at LJPS

On January 3, 2000, a small group of veteran educators met to discuss their “dream school”. Later that month, they began a series of advertised public meetings of interested parents. These “focus groups” identified the critical elements parents wanted for their child’s school. The parents’ wishes were matched with well-founded/researched best educational practices. With this foundation, the group formed a not-for-profit organization and began the process of making application for a charter school in Okaloosa County, Florida. The proposal was submitted to Okaloosa Public School District in March 2000 and the charter contract was approved in October 2000. The school opened its doors August 6, 2001, for the beginning of the 2001-2002 School Year!
