Good evening. This is LJPS with an important weather update.
As we continue to communicate with local and regional weather officials, we have high confidence that our area will experience winter weather impacting our roadways, making travel to and from school unsafe. Significant precipitation in the form of snow, sleet, and frozen rain is expected to begin around noon on Tuesday which could cause roads, bridges, and bypasses to freeze over. We will also experience freezing temperatures on Wednesday keeping accumulated precipitation on the ground. Therefore, school and extracurricular activities are canceled on Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22nd.
We expect school to resume on Thursday, January 23rd, but will continue to monitor weather conditions to ensure it is safe. Communication about Thursday will be provided through text messaging and our social media page.
